On Saturday, May 31, The Valley Vogue Fashion Show turned a vision into a networking event showcasing local talent and businesses above the city lights of Phoenix.

“I did something proactive for the community, whether that is fashion, whether that’s just bringing people together to be able to talk and meet, " Michael Gulley said, founder of TopFloorAZ, an entertainment service company. “I’m super appreciative, blessed for the opportunity, and I hope that is something I can do again.”

Gulley was brought on to a team of designers, influencers in the fashion industry and a fashion agency with a vision to put on a show for the Phoenix community.

Gulley explained that the model agency, Valley Vogue, approached him and shared their desire to put on a fashion show. Gulley decided to take the role of main organizer and event host and oversaw the development of the event as a whole. He was involved with various aspects of the process, whether that was building the network of models, designers and vendors or deciding on the decorations for the event.

While Gulley had faced some challenges along the way, such as ensuring there were enough people on the team and ensuring everything was in place for the day of the event with only 12 days of preparation, the show was ready to hit the runway.

“When I got to the venue, I started setting things up. I got people in their places. I kind of had to step in as a leader. They're not usually used to running events, so, you know, not everything's going to set up itself. Somebody's got to do the dirty work,” Gulley said.

On Saturday, May 31, a community-based fashion show, “Valley Vogue,”  was held in the heart of Phoenix with a beautiful view on the top floor overlooking the Arizona Center. The fashion show, with over 20 models, 15 designers, and various vendors, showcased a fusion of creativity and community in one space.

The event was a collaboration between vintage clothing brand “Dstord”, apparel company “Flipped Mania”, and “TopFloorAZ”. These brands worked together to put on a show with live music, networking opportunities, and a showcase of beautiful pieces in which designers like “BlendedCultureBrand” and Devin Banks, owner of “Highielys,” oversaw the production of these designs.

The fashion show was a great success and an opportunity for local designers and models to get their name and work out there. With the underground feel of the fashion show, to the simple yet chic decoration of the venue, Valley Vogue showed what happens when a vision and talented people come together for the same cause– to give the community a space to share their artistic expression.

“I like the idea of being creative and creating a big project that everybody can enjoy, and go home and say I went to a TopFloor event, and you want to come back for more,” Gulley said.
